Statements
Mission Statement Angels of Grace Family Service Center mission is to help children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving, and educational environment.
Background Statement Angels of Grace Family Service Center is located in Kansas City, Kansas. Currently there are currently 10 full time employees and throughout the year there are generally an additional 10-15 volunteers.

Angels of Grace Family Service Center currently serves as an Early Children Development site, as it has for the previous 14 years and is administrated by Mrs. Wanda Bibbs. Angels of Grace operates primarily on a fee-for-service basis, and has been providing services since 2000. Prior to the year 2000 Mrs. Bibbs had been administering the only foster facility in the State of Kansas for pregnant teenage girls called Grace Center, where during years of service over 1,000 children were born. We have an 85 % retention rate.
Impact Statement Angels of Grace top three accomplishments over last year would first be the continuity by the staff and our families in their commitment to each other in helping the children achieve educational gains.

Angels of Grace also has been able to develop and maintain emergency assistance programs for the families that are served through a reallocation of resources within the confines of reduction in child care subsidies; rental assistance, food and nutritional services, emergency shelter, clothing assistance and other basic needs were able to be developed and maintained for families in need. Angels of Grace also has been able to successfully develop a family literacy initiative with the families that it serves and incorporate those concepts into an essential component of its services to the children’s services.

Goals for Angels of Grace is to continue to seek and develop a more cost effective and larger space to continue to provide services. A second goal is to develop the funds to incorporate more technology into the resources available to the children of Angels of Grace. Lastly to continue to increase the number of children served by 35 percent and develop possible evening programming for parents who work evening hours and have no child care available to them.
Needs Statement The most pressing need of Angels of Grace is to develop a new cost effective location, with additional space in which to accommodate expansion. Our location directive has always been to be east of I-635 and there is a severe shortage of affordable and adequate locations, which meet this profile.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Chair Statement Over the past few years it has been a privilege to serve our families, who entrust their children to our care. Angels of Grace has a birth to Kindergarten graduation rate of 75%. This number is very significant due to the various wraparound and emergency assistance that is provided to our families. Programs from utility assistance, rental assistance, nutrition classes, Adult Continuing Education, exists to assist the family to enriching their lives.

These services are provided in the background of a reduction in the amount of child care subsidies that the state affords each family, which leads child care providers to seek alternative funding as the shortfall of the economy will have a devastating upon our children and society as a whole if caregivers are not in place to be the gateway to education.
Programs
Description The Early Childhood program at Angel's of Grace Family Service Center earned national accreditation in 2000 from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC.) It provides hands-on learning experiences, supportive teacher interactions and language-rich environments for 200 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years old. Developmentally appropriate programming is guided by Head Start with the goal of preparing children for success in school. Our program year begins in August every year. The Early Childhood program operates weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to enable parents to work full time and support their families.

The Family Literacy component of the Angels of Grace program is the essential bridge of center tasks completed by the children to parental involvement.
