Mission Statement The mission of The Sexual Abuse Restoration Program is to provide free Overcoming Sexual Abuse books, blankets, culturally sensitive sexual abuse material, and professional resources of mainstream and faith-based counseling and case management to individuals who simply cannot afford them.
Background Statement
The Overcoming Sexual Abuse (OSA) Book Series which features faith based preschool age, children, teenage, and adult book. When Dr. Tina Medina made her first presentation about the series, a woman by the name of Miss Cheryl Hampton, leader of the Virtuous Leaders Inc. encouraged the creation of a not- for profit organization in which people like her could buy books for those who simply could not afford them. Miss Hampton’s idea complimented the thought of providing an OSA Book love gift to recent sexual abuse victims. DeAnthony Thomas and Ms. Lisa Burke are the founders of the organization and have made this idea become into fruition as The Sexual Abuse Restoration Program, Inc.
The OSA love gift would consist of an age specific book, blanket with the cover image of the book, art piece, and encouraging letter so immediate help could take place. The idea of distribution community partners with local law enforcements, hospitals, and other non-profit organizations had been already been thought about as they currently serve as immediate outlets to reach recent sexual abuse victims. Another idea regarding the follow- up of these love gifts would be free traditional or Christian counseling and Case Management for those who requested it as the final step in the process of being on the road to sexual abuse recovery.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Chair Statement
Sexual Abuse is an international, national, state and local problem that is often ignored because of the stigma and negative social implications that it raises. All too often, victims are not helped or ministered too because of these issue, thus the victims are ignored or are ashamed to come forward to gain help. For far too long, there has been a void of faith-based material to help the sexual assault victim that does come forward to seek help. Today that changes because our organization is dedicated to providing solid faith-based material with counseling, case management, and self-esteem building exercises for this group who needs spiritual help in order to gain inner healing, hope and support from a Biblical perspective.
Our challenges are that we are starting with nothing, but faith and a promise from God that He will open up the windows of Heaven to be able to help the hopeless, the helpless, and the wounded.
Our passion lies in the hope that one can be fully restored from sexual abuse and live a better life that they may not currently know about today. Our hope is to provide counselors and case managers who will provide a source of help and inspiration so our clients can begin the sexual abuse recovery with hope, support, love and security in knowing that someone cares for them with compassionate hearts.
The author of the material that we use is Dr. Tina Medina. Medina is a kidney transplant recipient who was a child sexual abuse victim at age ten. Once she gained her new source of life, she committed it to write four books to help others overcome sexual abuse. The four books are for preschoolers, school aged children, teenagers, and adults. Medina took all of her experience as a counselor, case manager, Biblical minister and victor to create the series for others and used her own financial resources of $40,000 to do so. Our commitment to this organization goes way beyond typical lip service because this group is committed to offering real positive faith-based alternatives to what is currently available in the Greater Kansas City area.
We are raising money and seeking grants to meet the needs and challenges of our organization at this time. We know that The Sexual Abuse Restoration Program Inc. is new, but is very much needed therefore we stand firm in knowing that the money will be raised to help the poorest of the poor who have been sexually abused in our area and it's time to respond to their cries and their silent pain.
Description The first goal of the organization is to provide Overcoming Sexual Abuse Books to those who simply can’t afford them. The second goal of the organization is to meet the immediate needs of a sexual abuse victim at the most vulnerable time by providing the Overcoming Sexual Abuse love gifts to our community partners which will be local hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and other non-profit organizations.

Examples of Program Success
Here is just one of the international testimonies that we are getting from the OSA self-help books:
Hello, I wanted to just write to you to thank you for your books, I am working my way through them on Kindle so that made it accessible for me here in the UK. You may wonder why I am reading them all.... Well I have Dissociative Identity Disorder from my childhood sexual and ritual abuse, so I have many parts aged from 3 years old through to teenagers and young adults. I came across the one for preschoolers by searching on Amazon for 'How can I get to know Jesus' and the book 'How can Jesus Help Me?' came up. The message was perfectly aimed at my youngest parts, many who have already come to know Jesus, but it helped those with questions. So I continued onto 'Why Me?' and am now working through 'Why Me? Why Now?' with my teenage parts. It may be a little unconventional to use your books for an individual with DID, but I am a Christian and I want all of me to know Jesus as their Savior and receive His healing, so that one day I can be whole again. Thank you for the hard work and time it must have taken to complete these books. They are so full of truth, yet delivered with the compassion and understanding that can only come from someone who knows.  I am sorry that you do know what it is like to experience sexual abuse, but I thank God that He was able to use this in such an amazing way. You are playing a part in my healing process.

Organization Comments The challenge that we face is not having office space or a facility yet to offer services or to sustain a staff. Plus we do not have any name recognition, but there are opportunities each day to make relationships and establish the books as solid sexual abuse restoration healing tools to be used by groups of all ages.
