KCCUA promotes the production and consumption of fresh, local produce by growing urban farmers who are an active part of healthy neighborhoods in Greater Kansas City.
Vision
KCCUA envisions urban farms throughout Greater Kansas City that:
- Provide sustainable income for urban farm entrepreneurs;
- Promote a new kind of urban design that turns unused, vacant spaces into productive, small-scale agriculture that is as an integral part of a healthy neighborhood.
- Improve the diets and eating choices of community members;
- Increase the availability of locally grown, healthy produce;
- Connect community residents to healthy food production in the neighborhoods where they live, work, and play;
